Richard has been in the field of architectural design and construction for over 40 years. He describes himself as an “Instinctive Designer” and considers building design and the arts strongly connected through the creative process. Seeing “Everything as Design” he is eclectic in his approach and views many types and styles of art and design as valid.
Being an avid photographer for most of his adult life with a constant eye for style, form and color, he is eternally aware of every scene that passes his eye. Rarely planning a shot, he will take advantage of what presents itself on a daily basis. “My photos are dependent upon the light or lack of it that create a moment of beauty or drama or design.” The light really is a “moment” of time.
In his constant search for that “moment of light, that moment of luminosity” some shots have taken from months to years for a particular scene to present itself as imagined and having the opportunity to capture it.
Richard began showing his work in 2013 in galleries and juried shows throughout the Hudson Valley.
